90 Years of Cherwell
A History of Cherwell Former Editor-in-Chief of Cherwell (MT08), Chris Baraniuk, is currently writing a book about the history of the Cherwell newspaper, and its influence on Oxford society, British media and historical events of national importance. This web-page has been set up to help Chris with his research and to appeal to any Oxford alumni who might have interesting tales to tell about the newspaper. Former editors, writers, readers and those who remember run-ins with student journalists hungry for a story are just the sort of people he wants to speak to. If this sounds like you, you can get in touch with Chris at this email address: cherwellhistory@gmail.com. He's also managing the alumni database (see below) so you can contact him that way too - and stay in touch with the Cherwell of the present and future. Alumni Database Cherwell was founded in 1920 and in the past 90 years has changed its purpose, shape and staff more times than we can remember - which is why we need your help! Cherwell is currently compiling an alumni database of people who worked for the paper or were members of Oxford Student Publications Ltd. (OSPL) when they were students. If that's you, then we want to hear from you. Simply fill in the form below to send us your details and any comments you might have. Being part of the database will give you access to information about events organised for alumni and in the future you may also have the option to subscribe to Cherwell and receive each copy of the newspaper when it's published (during term time). N.B. Cherwell will NOT share any of the information you submit with third parties.
