Oxford partnership allows OpenAI to use rare Bodleian texts to train ChatGPT

A pilot scheme, launched in 2025, allows OpenAI to use materials from the Bodleian Library to train its models, documents obtained by The Guardian and seen by Cherwell show.

Oxford falls to lowest ever spot in The Times UK University Guide 2027

The University of Oxford has placed fifth in The Times’s 2027 UK university rankings, falling from joint fourth with the University of Cambridge last year. This marks Oxford’s lowest ranking in the guide’s 33 year history and only the second time the University has not been in the top three.
