2022 – A Year in Review

Oli takes a look back on our coverage of 2022 with contributions from the team.

December

  • 6th – November’s final midterm results came in in Georgia and  Lucas Haskins helped us unpick the results.
  • 21st – January 6th committee releases final recommendations
    • Jakub Trybull – “For many, the January 6th attack on the US Capitol was a sharp reminder that our democratic values only survive when we have faith in them. While it is unlikely that Trump would have remained President had the insurrection happened differently, the extent the attackers were willing to go to should be worrying for all Americans, especially those that are so hell-bent on ‘freedoms’ that they assault democracy in its own name.  Things go deeper than just this one event; however, the committee concluded that Trump had participated in a multi-part conspiracy to manipulate election results through lies, political pressure, and summoning a mob.”
