It has been confirmed this week that an Oxford swan had bird flu. A member of Swan Support, a charity helping sick and injured swans in the Thames Valley area, confirmed that the case was related to a swan at Iffley Lock.
On Sunday, January 23rd, approximately 350 people gathered in Port Meadow to protest Thames Water’s dumping of sewage into local rivers and waterways.
A group of outdoor swimmers called Brrrr! Have complained about an unknown sewage release in advance of their Christmas Day swim.
"Litter on Port Meadow left two animals needing vet treatment this weekend, with injuries that could have been life threatening. A horse cut open its hoof on broken glass and a cow suffered an intestinal blockage thought to be caused by eating litter."
