Ethiopia’s food insecurity crisis is rapidly worsening to alarming extents under severe drought and civil conflict, shows Oxford’s Young Lives study, which has tracked the effects of poverty on 12,000 young people in Ethiopia, India, Peru, and Vietnam over 20 years. 

"This Western-imposed isolation of the Tigray Crisis exposes the asymmetric power structures and false promises of the ‘international’ age."

"While it is essential to understand the way Ethiopia’s ethnofederal structure has influenced the current crisis, and will continue to do so, it’s perhaps not particularly useful to assign the system blame. It is the product of a long history of other tried and failed systems."
